General Hours Info
February through October, Sacramento Zoo is open to general pubic from 9 am to 4 pm seven days a week with a few exceptions:
1) On Thursdays from June 16 to July 28, the zoo will stay open until 8 pm for the sake of "Twilight Thursdays," a special event including live music, a car show, performances by local bands and clubs, as well as discounts for dinner and drink at Kampala Cafe in the zoo. 2) On June 25, the zoo will be closed at 1:30 pm, to make room and preparation for King of Feasts, a food and wine luau at 6 pm to 9 pm. This event highlights live entertainment, dance, mixology competition, silent auction and lots more. Tasty food, wines, beers and fun are blended together in the lush and cozy setting of the zoo. 3) On July 23, Sacramento Zoo will close to general visitors at 1:30 pm for the 27th Annual Ice Cream Safari. As a cool summer tradition in the city, Ice Cream Safari is a fantastic time for families. A diversity of family entertainment, all-you-can-eat ice cream and Coca-Cola beverages, and affordable admission, all these deserve your involvement. It begins at 4 pm and ends at 8 pm. Treat your palate to scrumptious ice cream and secure a brain-freezing good time with your children.

November through January, Sacramento Zoo will be operated according to winter schedule, and you can visit it from 10 am to 4 pm every day with several exceptions:
1) The zoo will be closed all day on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
2) On December 24, all admission is free and the zoo will be closed early in 1:30 pm.
Please note: Though the zoo stops selling tickets on 4 pm daily, patrons are allowed to stay on zoo grounds for one extended hour after the closure.

- California Celebration: Multicultral & Art Day
On May 7, come to Sacramento Zoo for a culture-filled day! On this day, from 9 am to 4 pm, a wide range of cultural art, dance, entertainment, tours, music and activities are hosted to showcase the diversity of California's culture. - MOM's Day Bake Sale
On Sunday, May 8 from 9 am to 2 pm, visitors at the zoo are encouraged to buy scrumptious treats at the bake sale as the support to the Missing Orangutan Mothers (MOM). You devotion to Orangutan conservation will be awarded with tasty baked foods at the same time. This bake sale stand is located in front of the Orangutan exhibit. In addition, this event, along with California Celebration, is presented by American Association of Zookeepers.

- Senior Tea & Tours
This is an exclusive offer for senior visitors aged 55 and more. On May 2, 9 and 16, special guided tours around the zoo, and pleasant cups of tea are provided from 9:30 am until the noon. - Swingin' Safari Golf Tournament
Come and get zesty with the 10th Annual Golf Tournament! No matter what golf level you are, just join us for a swinging-good day for golf contest, prizes, banquet and raffle on May 23.
