The owner of the mall is Fulcrum Property but the operations for the mall are taken care by Macerich. The Arden Fair Mall consists of two levels of unlimited shopping and selling.

The original Arden Fair Mall built in the year 1957 was actually one single storied. The Sears was the original anchor of the mall though it was separate from the rest of the mall physically. The second original anchor was Hale's which was opened for public in the year 1961, four years after the first one was opened. The second anchor was eventually turned into Weinstock's. Though the original Arden Fair Mall was an outdoor mall, it was later on converted into an indoor mall by the 1970's.
The Arden Fair Mall was given a face lift and a major renovation was undertaken in the year 1989. After the renovation work the mall emerged, twice its original size and much more visually effective to the eyes. The second story and the food court were part of the renovation work. The fourth anchor to mall; the JCPenney was opened in the year 1994.
